About Andrea Ford L. Ac.
Andrea Ford graduated with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute (now called TAI-Sophia) in Laurel, MD in 1995. She graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage in 1992 completing their basic massage program where she was told she had an aptitude for working with people who need deep tissue massage. She did advanced acupuncture studies with internationally known author, psychiatrist and acupuncturist Dr. Leon Hammer, M.D. completing his Master’s Level Pulse Diagnosis classes in 1997. She attended the Atlantic University of Chinese Medicine's Chinese Herbal Program in 2000-2001. Ms. Ford has also studied Functional Endocrinology with Dr. Janet Lang, D.C. and Dr. Datis Kharrahzian, D.C. in 2008-2010. She specializes in natural hormone balancing, blood sugar and digestive imbalances, liver detoxification, and treatments for adrenal fatigue with acupuncture, chinese herbal formulas, organic whole food supplements and diets and bioidenticle hormones.
She currently lives in Sylva, North Carolina, in a natural earthen home she just finished building (in her spare time) with her own two hands and a lot of help from her friends. She continues to offer her healing work at Saints European Skin Care and Spa, Sylva, NC and teach people about the benefits of natural healing techniques through her classes, talks and newsletters.
Chinese Healing Arts is the name Andrea Ford L.Ac. chose upon graduation from acupuncture school to be the name for her healing practice. The name reflects the interdisciplinary and intuitive approach Andrea has taken in discovering and mastering what would be the safest, most efficient and effective treatment possible for each of her patients.
